Borovets is the oldest ski resort in Bulgaria, since 1896. Its 1350 meters above see level on the norther slopes of Rila mountain. It is 70 km to Sofia, 83 km to Blagoevgrad and 125 km to Plovdiv. The closest town is Samokov, 10 km.
